DESIGN INFORMATION:
The overall vibe of this design was to combine the humanity and inhumanity of a doomsday cult environment, which I divided up into a very clean collegiate frontprint inspired by classic hardcore and sports designs with a backprint that showcased the "consequences" of such an environment.
Doomsday cults like Aum Shinrikyo and People's Temple had a very casual and welcoming business side that extolled racial and economic equality (front), while nevertheless exploiting their followers on every level possible...sexual, monetary, interpersonal (back). The escalation of these cults ultimately led to acts of terrorism and mass suicide.
The lore of the "Daughters of Cain" for the back I took from a leader of a Jewish sect named Sabbatai Zevi. Zevi was born in 1666 and believed that God would only appear if humanity achieved universal harmony or sin. Believing that harmony was unachievable, he inspired his followers to engage and spread sin everywhere possible to bring forth God.
The death metal logo on the backside was heavily inspired by Morbid Angel and Goreaphobia.
The upsidedown cross sigil is the symbol of St. Peter, equal parts holy and unholy. His preordained fate was to betray Jesus, nevertheless fulfilling the arc of the resurrection. It all seemed to fit together themewise.
